Solve Today’s Toughest Manufacturing Challenges with Leadtec™ Shop Floor Control from CGS
Leadtec Real-time Operator Terminals for Advanced Shop Floor Control
Real-time operator terminals incorporate state-of-the-industry barcode and/or RFID capabilities, a simple keypad, and display to enable the benefits of the Leadtec real-time shop floor control solution. The Leadtec terminal is a proprietary custom built rugged device specifically designed to withstand harsh manufacturing environments. Many customers report that 15+ year old terminals still operate flawlessly.
Leadtec operators utilize the operator terminal to clock-in and out, scan or key in information on the work that they perform throughout the day, and receive immediate feedback on their productivity and earnings performance. This same real-time data collection process enables automated, error-free payroll calculations and provides management with the visibility needed to better track, manage, and report on all aspects of production.
Once an operator scans a bundle of work, the system validates it and the terminal displays a variety of information and motivational values, as follows:
- Standard Value - the value of the work (per one unit, other multiple, or entire bundle) formatted in Standard Allowed Minutes (SAM), Standard Allowed Hours (SAH), or Dollars.
- Bundle Quantity - the bundle quantity is displayed.
- All-Day Performance - the operator’s cumulative performance for the day (0% - 999%).
- Target Time* - target time (hours, minutes, seconds) for the bundle is displayed based on the allowed time and the operator’s target performance level. Target performance level is automatically set by the system based on the operator’s past performance and can be changed by the operator to achieve self-pacing. Time counts down on the screen to constantly display remaining time and any excess time required to complete the bundle.
- Target Quantity* - the number of units that the operator should have completed at any moment is displayed; automatically counting up each time a piece should be completed.
- Bundle Performance* - the operator’s performance on the current bundle is displayed; representing the operator’s performance if the bundle is finished “now”.
