Net Payroll Option
The SATELITE PLUS Net Payroll Option translates the gross payroll calculated by Satelite
Plus and prepares a net payroll compliant with U.S. federal and most state tax
requirements. The payroll system also provides for the generation of non-incentive pay
transactions, e.g. sick, holiday, vacation, bonuses, etc. and handles taxable and
non-taxable deductions. Deduction arrears processing is included to handle cases where all
deductions cannot be taken from a single check. The system prints payroll checks and
allows the entry of manual and void checks. Processing is included for printing W2s as
well as preparation of magnetic media reporting.

Batch Data Entry Option
The SATELITE PLUS Batch Data Entry Option provides the ability
to operate a plant with data collection in batch mode, realtime mode or a combination of
both modes. Users can start with an entirely batch operation and easily migrate to full
realtime by adding terminals as desired. The Batch Data Entry Option provides an easy
transition from batch to real-time and enables the continuing operation of both batch and
real-time simultaneously when this best meets the needs of the factory. The system will
automatically support operators who move between portions of a factory which operate in
different modes (batch or real-time). Inventory which moves from a batch environment to
real-time is automatically tracked by the system. In addition, the system supports a
single user interface for engineering, management reporting and payroll regardless of the
mode of operation. Obviously, in batch mode not all of the reporting and analysis
capabilities of SATELITE PLUS are provided.

Modular Manufacturing Option
The Modular Manufacturing (MM) real-time system option captures production and attendance
data for each operator in a module. Using the Message Boards (see below) for group
displays, production and performance presentations give the operators continuous
visibility of the entire module's performance. Gross pay calculations can be based on a
combination of actual coupon earnings for each individual and for the entire group. Other
bonuses can be calculated and entered manually, using standard Satelite Plus reports to
obtain the necessary information.

Group Incentives
Group Incentives (GI) are used to describe a single job that is performed by a small group
of operators working together, whose earnings are based entirely on their collective
performance. Satelite Plus realtime captures GI production and attendance data in
real-time, provides real-time and historical reporting, and automatically calculates gross
payroll. Any Satelite Plus workplace terminal can be used for Group Incentive. A
special transaction, entered at the terminal, identifies it as a GI terminal. The terminal
then functions slightly differently than an individual incentive terminal:
- It allows more than one operator to clock in at a time.
- Most subsequent transactions at the terminal are applied to every operator who is clocked
in at the terminal.
Each operator that clocks in at the GI terminal becomes a member of the group. The
composition of the group automatically changes as operators clock in and out. As the group
works, each bundle is scanned at the GI terminal. Each bundle's piecerate is divided
equally among the operators that compose the group at the time the bundle is scanned. This
also applies to the values that drive the motivational timers -- the standard time is
divided by the number of operators in the group to derive the target time.

Shared Terminal Option
In addition to realtime operation using dedicated Satelite Plus terminals, the system also
provides a realtime option using shared terminals. Dedicated terminals provide an entry
and motivational device for each operator. Shared terminals allow more than one operator
to share a conveniently located terminal for barcode data entry and to receive earnings
and performance information in realtime.STO can be implemented at a much lower cost
than a dedicated terminal configuration, however, it does not enable all of the benefits
available with a dedicated terminal configuration. STO is a great alternative to batch and
in low-cost labor markets. With STO, Satelite Plus gives users a broad choice of system
configurations and implementation costs: from the least expensive batch configuration;
realtime with shared terminals; and the greatest benefits of a dedicated terminal
configuration.

Plant Loading System
The SATELITE PLUS Plant Loading System (PLS) is a forecasting tool. PLS allows Satelite
Plus users to simulate up to date work-in-process and planned future work loading, and
automatically compare this work against the capacity limits of each job in the factory. By
carefully evaluating the priority of planned work and alternative work schedules, the
planner can use PLS to determine the best available program for work release to the
factory.

Plant Bells Option
The Plant Bells realtime system option provides the ability to have Satelite Plus
automatically ring the plant's bells synchronized with the system's clock. This prevents
discrepancies between the time bells are rung and the time the system uses for shift start
and stop. Leadtec furnishes the hardware and software which will turn on the AC current
used to ring most bell systems. Each hardware set drives multiple bells within a single
plant.

Realtime Message Boards
The Realtime Message Board option is a great way to inform and motivate groups of
employees. It uses a "moving message board" to display information to a team,
section (department), or an entire plant. Any number of message boards can be installed in
a plant. Each board can be configured to display performance information for a single team
or section, or summary performance information for the entire plant. The information on
the board is updated every few minutes (controlled by a system parameter). The message
boards are available in two sizes: a 2" high board is visible up to 100 feet; the
4" high board is visible up to 200 feet. Some examples of what can be shown on the
message boards are included below.

Order Tracking Option
Order Tracking is a Satelite Plus option which associates "cuts" with a higher
level tracking item called an "order". The system provides reporting functions
to track the status of each order and the various cuts associated with each order. This
option is intended for plants that deal with customer or contract level orders and that
have several cuts associated with each order. The Order Tracking option provides:
- Queries and reports which show order completion status
- "Actual costs" of each order
- Standard costs for each cut within an order
- Cut production status reports by order
- Labor inventory reports by order
